España!!!

I’ve decided, upon the idea of my sister, to mass communicate with everyone via blog…so here we go

I’m in Spain!!

Woot woot! I’m winding down day 2 now and its been great...jet lag didn’t hit me as hard as I thought it might…the scheduling of my flight was extremely convenient when it came to that! However, once I finally got out of the airport, I had been in an airport setting for over 24 hours because of all the waiting I had to do! Very much so intense but still very much worth it!!!

Spain is almost exactly how I expected it to be…so far it reminds me a lot of Mexico but there is definitely a much older and modern feel to it. The city I’m living in, Alcalá de Henares, is wonderful as well…it’s huge too! Somewhere close to 250,000 or so according to my host dad. Oh my host family, they are great too…I get along with them great so fear number one is out of the way! It’s a good thing Spanish people love them some Mexicans…hehe

My host mom’s name is Isabel and my host dad is Luis Miguel…they are very interesting people and I love just listening to them talk. Their accent is so strange and all that “vosotros” talk is throwing me for a loop! Usually I don’t have to think too hard when I’m speaking in Spanish but I always have to be on my A-game to understand what’s goin on…The funny thing is that they tell me that my Spanish sounds funny, what with my big Mexican accent and all that…lol…oh culture, you gotta love it!

Oh and one last thing…if y’all want to leave me some FREE voicemails to listen to and rejoice b/c I heard your beautiful voice, just call 1-888-579-0208 and enter this account number, 3100053397, when it asks you to…

I’m gonna be taking lots of pictures, many of which will find their way onto here…

This is the new terminal that I arrived at in Madrid…

This is the swanky, ultra up-scale McDonald’s in the airport….talk about your differences!

Hasta Luego!!

Hey Little Bro - I'm so jealous but so happy that you have this great opportunity. Like Angie I too want MORE PICTURES....Mommy mentioned that you said it looked a lot like Queretaro?!? I bet it does. Anywho, have a great first week, and I'll be checking on you via blog to see what you're up to. Hopefully something to make me laugh (Mr. President).

love you and be careful....
Your beautiful, smart, and only sister.
