La primera semana!!

So this is a door…but not just any door! This door gets me into my piso (Spanish apmt)…Now some of you know how doors tend to give me trouble a lot of the time, but this door gives me a new kind of trouble! I simply can’t get it open!! That door knob, yeah that’s just for decoration…if you want a funny image, just picture me with a funky key trying my hardest to get this thing open…some of you will enjoy this more than others…hehe

Classes have begun already! Today marks the 3rd day of classes…its looking to be a pretty decent semester. Not too much work and just enough in-class learning to make this trip worth something intellectually. I’m thinking that my favorite class is definitely going to be Arte y Museos (Art & Museums)…not only does the professor seem really cool, but as we study all this Spanish art work, we get to see it in person at the different museums in Madrid!! Isn’t that amazing? I still can’t believe it myself…the only things I’m not looking forward to is any class that deals with grammar of ANY kind…blech!!

Been going out a bit at night but I just can’t keep up with Spanish people…they are seriously out at all hours of the night it seems like, and not just young people...everyone is out all the time at night!! Monday night there were still little kids playing in Plaza Cervantes at 2am! Crazy, huh?

Plans for this weekend…cultural tour of Alcalá on Thursday and our first trip to Madrid on FRIDAY!!! And you know that with my free transportation pass I’m going to be all about Madrid as often as possible…WOOT WOOT SPAIN!!

I leave you with some pictures of Alcalá…just some of the pretty things I get to see as I walk around this gorgeous place!

This one is just for my family…Jorge, I found your Manolo right by my piso!

and finally...yes, the crocidile hunters death is a huge thing in Spain too...well, at least among American students...hehe

oh and one more thing...that number that i left for messages in the last post, yeah dont call it b/c as it might be free for y'all to leave messages, its not free for me to check them! crazy ISIC people...id punch them if i could
